The article intrigued him, and he contacted the Danish manufacturer.
The details contained in their reply encouraged him to show them to his
Rotary Club, who decided to promote the LifeStraw, and do what they could to donate them to those in need of safe water.

<geo:Point><geo:lat>51.79881</geo:lat><geo:long>-3.17346</geo:long></geo:Point>

Light of Maasai

Elaine Bannon is in Kenya (she is in
the bush near the Equator) working with the Masasai warriors. She
has received a consignment of personal lifestraws via Brynmawr W P.
One way she uses them is to demonstrate them, suggest that they can be
used when they follow their cattle. However
they only get one if they promise not to carry out "Female
Circumcision" on their daughters. a very unusual use of life straws.
Visit their website and read about their work: www.lightofmaasai.com

<geo:Point><geo:lat>-2.92529</geo:lat><geo:long>37.51807</geo:long></geo:Point>

Macclesfield Rotary Club

Visit to Macclesfield rotary club

The Club was chartered in 1997 to meet the need for a breakfast Club in Cardiff to complement the other local clubs who meet in the evening or at lunchtime. We were also the first dual gender Club in Cardiff. We currently have 29 members.
Meetings take place at the Whitchurch (Cardiff) Golf Club. Since inception, we have closely identified with the north Cardiff suburbs of Whitchurch and Tongwynlais. Castell Coch – the Red Castle – is nearby and has been adopted as the Club’s logo, appearing on our Newsletters and banner.

<geo:Point><geo:lat>51.52504</geo:lat><geo:long>-3.22874</geo:long></geo:Point>

Rotary RIBI Conference 2011
